About

Denny Wells for Alaska

I’m a proud lifelong Alaskan and the son of an IBEW electrician. After meeting my wife Lisa while attending UAF and serving in the Peace Corps together, we built a life together here in Anchorage and started our family. I first got involved in local politics during the Anchorage redistricting process in 2022. I proposed maps, followed the process, and surpisingly as a non-political citizen, local leaders reached out and the Assembly adopted one of my maps. Today I’m focused on helping raise our three children and getting involved to make our state stronger for all Alaskans, both for us today and for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.

As I have gone door-to-door talking with friends and neighbors, there has been a running theme in our neighbors’ reactions. Alaskans are frustrated with the politicians who are supposed to represent our community. Most have never met their representative – never had a candidate or elected official knock on their door and ask for their opinion. That’s not how I think government should be. My goal is to knock on every door in our district and as your next representative, continue to do so. If I don’t make it to your door, or if you are not home when I do, please feel free to reach out and share the issues that matter to you. I promise to always listen to the concerns and needs of each of you and put your interests first, not those of party bosses or outside special interest groups.

Why I'm Running

As a husband and proud father of three school-aged children, I’m running to ensure Alaskans today and tomorrow have a bright future in our great state. As your representative, I will fight to ensure that Alaska’s youth have access to a thriving education system, support Alaska’s families, protect reproductive rights and healthcare access, promote economic growth and new job opportunities, and provide a fiscally responsible budget that protects the services our community depends on.
